Message from Jean Smith Leggett and Ron Enders
July 1, 2008

Dear classmates,

Plans are in place for our first ever Ardmore School Reunion!! We'll meet at the "old" school, which is now home to Redeemer Presbyterian Church at 12:30 pm.. Lunch will be at 1 pm in the cafeteria, followed by a tour of the building, & then a "trip down memory lane" in the auditorium. We'll end the day with ice cream sodas in the cafeteria. Bob Chambers, one of our student councils presidents, will MC the event. We've sent out a registration form, but, if you find you can come at the last minute, please contact
Jean(nie) Smith Leggett/336-766-5816, & we'll have lunch for you.
If you have questions, or suggestions, please contact Ron @ renders@cfw.com, or Jeannie @ jandkleggett@msn.com.
This will be a special time, & we're looking forward to seeing each of you there.

Ron Enders' Message to the 7th Grade Class of 1953 at Ardmore
April 28, 2008

This preliminary announcement is to let you know about the plans being made to have a reunion at the old school building on Sat afternoon July 26. And to test your email address for our communications, to ask you for help in locating members of our class, to let you know the outline of our plans so far, and to ask for your suggestions and encouragement.

Jeannie Smith Leggett has reserved the old school, , which is now a church, from around 12:30 to 4:00. She will arrange for box lunches, ice tea and ice water for a casual picnic style lunch in the cafeteria (no alcohol or smoking is allowed in Church). Bob Chambers, one of our two class Presidents will serve as our master of ceremonies. There will be a tour of the old school building to bring back memories and we will pose for a class picture. Other than this outline, necessary for basic logistics, we are open for suggestions. We will keep the cost to a minimum...a small rental fee for the building, and the cost of the box lunch.

There is some information we are looking for, and hopefully you can help provide some answers, or leads. We think Mr. Abbott was the principal when we graduated, and that Ms. Dalton was principal before him. Do you remember? The two teachers for the 7th grade were Ms Matlock and Mr.

Abbott. We believe Ms. Matlock is deceased but we don't know about Mr.

Abbott. It would be great if we could contact family members of any of the former teachers. Does anyone have info to offer in this area? I have a copy of our yearbook but there are no pictures. Did we have any class pictures taken? If so, we'd love to have copies to give to everyone. Do you have pictures from our Ardmore years?

Would you please write and share with us a few remembrances of your time at Ardmore? If you have any pictures but don't have a scanner, I will be glad to scan them for you and return them to you. Please send them to me with a self addressed and stamped envelope and I will return them quickly.

This is an easy event to plan, but a little help is needed. If you would like to volunteer, we could use some help in setting up the cafeteria before the picnic, cleaning up at the end of the day, calling people to encourage them to come, and help in locating some of the missing class members. But more important...we need you there to make it a success.

Do you know how to reach any of the following? Any leads or suggestions on who might know would be useful.

Danny Barringer (Don will try to locate)

Mary Gay Bergen (Jeannie will try to locate)

Kenneth Binkley

Nancy Brunt

Billy Chisholm

Nancy Creed

Eddy Graves

Beth Hamilton

Jane Hill

Rosalee Painter

Susie Pinkson

John Adams

Attached is a text file of our class names, address, phone and email.

Please advise me of any corrections. I agreed to to help with locating our class and with communications. Jeanne volunteered to help with the logistics and Bob, our class leader who is now on a cruise to Europe, is

considering our program. There is not much time left so please respond

and let us know of your interest, what information you have, your remembrances, and your pictures. We're excited about this, and hope you, too, will feel that excitement.

Thanks,

Ron Enders
